I have been working as a home-based freelancer for several months and have completed some freelance projects.

In order to get noticed as a bidder in freelancing sites you need to be aggresive with your efforts. You have to prepare a short summary of your skills. Include the number of years of related experience and your successful projects.  Don't just cut and paste this summary on every freelance project that you bid on.  You should customize your bid summary to the project requirements.

Make your bid text personal and greet the project owner by his/her name. Add a PM to your bids.  Your PM should contain more details of your bid. Explain on how you came up with the bid amount and the number of days required to complete the freelance project. If the freelance project owner replied to your PM, be sure to reply immediately.  A project owner might have some questions that need an immediate reply.  If you don't reply soon enough, the project owner will move on to other project bidders.

When a bid offer is accepted, be sure to coordinate with the project owner as soon as you get his/her contact details.
